PDF Readers - iPhone Apps

This article is part of the iPhone apps for geeks series.

I’ve already tried the default approaches to read PDFs on iPhone: through email attachments or in browser. But I’d like to have a bit of a more advance app to access my PDF.

At a minimum, the app I’m looking for should allow me to:

  • upload/sync PDFs from my laptop (Mac)
  • auto-rotation
  • advanced navigation: support for links + go to page
  • bookmarks
  • copy & paste

As it happens with the AppStore, I can find a couple of apps getting closer to my needs, but it is difficult to say which one should I get. So, I’d really appreciate any recommendations

Here is a short list of the apps I could find:

  • PDF Reader Pro (YUYAO Mobile Software, Inc.): €0.79
  • PDF Reader Pro Edition (iTech Development Systems): €1.59
  • PDF-Pro (ePapyrus, Inc.): €3.99
  • Pdf+ (mBrain Software): €2.39
  • PDF Expert (Readdle): €3.99
  • Felaur PDF Reader (Felaur Inc.): €2.39
  • ? PDF Agent (Aura SoftWare): €0.79
  • - Simple PDF Reader (Rudiger): €0.79
  • LookSee (Kristof Kowalski): €0.79
  • Impact PDF Reader 3.0 (Impact Financials, Inc.): €4.99
  • Good Reader (Good.iWare Ltd.): €3.99

As you can see there are more than 10 reasons for being confused. Do you have any recommendations that would help me pick the one closest to my needs?

Update: After spending some time comparing their features and reading the documentation, I have picked two of the above listed PDF Readers: PDF Expert and Good Reader. These two are offering most of the features I’ve wanted.
